St Matthew Housing aims to offer tours of The Malthouse Project to local and regional schools. The tours and education packs would be tailored around the national curriculum on subjects like history, English, geography and social issues. The Malthouse Project has room available after the tours for teachers and pupils to utilise to do school work on the visit.
St Matthew Housing worked in partnership with Westley Middle School, Bury St Edmunds, during the restoration period of The Malthouse Project. Pupils from the school produced art work (examples shown above) to display on the exterior fencing of the site. The art work was themed on the old maltings, the maltings process and on the issue of homelessness.
