Sowing the seeds for the community

The café is open Tuesdays to Fridays from 9am to 4pm and Saturdays 9am - 3pm.

Kiln Cafe

The café is called the Kiln Café after the period when the building was a maltings and the room housed the kiln. Original 17th century kiln tiles and bricks can be seen on display in the café, adding to the character of the place.

The café is open Tuesdays to Fridays from 9am to 4pm and Saturdays 9am - 3pm. The eatery offers a range of sandwiches, panini's, jacket potatoes, homemade cakes and hot and cold drinks. Click here for the Kiln Cafe menu.

The café is run by two full time members of staff with help from volunteers, students and St Matthew Housing residents and service users. This opportunity provides training and work experience for a number of people in the community, particularly for people who have been excluded from mainstream education and training because of illness, disability or other barriers.

If you are interested in volunteering and would like to know how to go about it, click here link to get involved.

If you are interested in becoming a catering student and gaining a qualification, please click here link to education & training page for more information.
